• Land is shorthand for the universe. It existed before us, would've presumably existed without us, and will presumably continue to exist after us.

• Homesteading is enclosing for private use what you can reasonably defend.

• Colonizing is ousting previous inhabitants without "just" compensation.

• Can be generalized into two components:

  • Location

  • Natural Resources
